Ian.
I'd love to fit it mate, as it's pretty much a bolt on and tune proposition as it sits, but other things have become "higher priority" so to speak and it seems a waste to just let it sit until I get a chance to fit in the future.
Yeah mate, there was a lot of interest, but unfortunately it's gone cold now, so I'll keep the thread bumps coming and we'll see where things go from there.
Cheers,
Rusty.

I meant any other way would dictate loss of twin scroll goodness (which I do definitely miss amd might be going back to twin scroll once my super duper build goes through, albeit a relatively larger size twin scroll turbo ;) )

To the original poster - basically rusty's setup is the best bang for buck I reckon you could do to retain the great spool characteristics of the twin scroll vf38 and releasing some up top oomph

No worries Mick, appreciate your reply mate.

Cheers,
Rusty.

Apologies to MrTT for the thread hijack.

Can an unmodified Auto tranny handle 200awkw and stand the test of time? (or modified one for that matter)
MH3.0 on this forum might be able to shed some light on this one in the coming months with his auto build.
Food for thought MrTT :?

I have a feeling MH 3.0R 's modded auto will be up to it.
If it slips he can get the hexmods valve body mod to increase clamping pressure.

I had my VF38 fail a few months ago, I sent it to GCG Turbo in NSW, they machined the original housing out(bigger) and replaced the internal VF38 cartridge with the bigger higher flowing FV34 internals. Car has made just over 150awKW at 14PSI, the main restriction at the moment is the stock exhaust the car just wont run any more boost with that stock exhaust.

It cost me just under $2000 for the work from GCG Turbo. The new turbo spools just has nice as the original as it retains the twin scroll and has allot more top end. The car goes to Custom Exhaust Specialist next month for a complete new up-pipe and turbo back exhaust. The tuner Lachlan from Chip Torque said the new VF38 with the new internals, made 20 psi easy when he had it disconnected off the vacuum to test the turbo. He said the GCG turbo rebuild is a good thing and I should be able to run close to 19 psi allowing for a 1 psi drop over the MRT Cross Flow Intercooler.

Will keep you posted.

GCG Turbo rebuild is the way to go.....cheap.....no messing around with flanges and exhaust fitment.....and you dont have to have it tuned either.....if you are short on cash.

Or you could just buy rusty's setup for a few hundred more and get the full suite of upgrades required to make close to 200atw

Cheers Mick, my sentiments exactly.

The turbo in the package I'm selling is identical to the one Enver has just had modified by GCG turbo's.
I was going to run it around 17psi, the same as the previous owner.
His car, once tuned had 180kw at the wheels.

Cheers,
Rusty.
