hey i recently had a turbo upgrade done... would it be worth trying to sell my old turbo or ???

Really up to yourself. I don't keep things lying around and get rid of all my stock bits as I upgrade.

If you're planning on returning the car to stock when selling then yes keep it.

I don't think they fetch too much as used turbo's are a fairly risky purchase and the market place prices them accordingly.

They do make a good paper weight as well, if you need one.

I heard the early Gen4 turbos are pretty rare so might be someone interested in it...?

What turbo did you upgrade to?

I upgraded to a kinugawa Td05 16g. very happy with the upgrade.

What was involved in the swap if you don't mind me asking?

A swap on one of the 2.0 involves changing the exhaust manifold on these. Without knowing what the OP did, on my first swap I ran a set of STi stock UEL headers and up pipe with a VF34. I now run a set of Kando equal length headers and one of their up pipes with a cbrd BBK-l Roller.
You would also need to have some fettling down to join the compressor outlet to the TMIC inlet.
And a tune.

Although the replacement cost of a standard turbo is high, you won't get much for it anyway.

I'd suggesting keeping it as chances are you're likely to turn it back to stock before you sell (Most people do) as you'll get more money & more interest for the after market / modified parts as you will for standard stuff.

I'm having a problem with my turbo it's winding the bearing is on the way out I am going to upgrade and I need to know what type the original turbos are on the 04 gt's can any of you help me with the answer ? So I know what type to order for the upgrade .

ITS-STI has a UEL exhaust manifold for sale for 125 bucks. That and a kinugawa td05-18 with a 7cm rear. They go for about 600 bucks on ebay. Install it yourself, or pay a mechanic, and TUNE.

Oh, and kido_tuning is the man to talk to, he seems to have the auto and AVCS sorted. No brainer there.
