Zero Sports Cool Action II....

Postby tangcla » Fri Nov 23, 2007 8:42 am

Has anyone had any experience with one of these?

The Zero/Sports Cool Action Intercooler Splitter is designed to direct all the air that comes thru the hood intake. The flow of air is optimized by the fin on the Cool Action Intercooler Splitter and all air is passed thru the intercooler. The efficiency of the stock intercooler is increased by 100% because the maximum cooling is obtained and hence significantly lowering the temperature of the intake air.

Efficency increased by 100%, I call BS until I see proof.

I think the ARC intake scoop addition would have to do something similar in terms of getting more air in?

That was on a WRX website, and in an STi scoop I can see the merits of the design, however 100% is a big expectation...

ARC intake scoop addition would help, it increaseses the charge intake gap from 30mm to 35mm, and it protrudes further forwards which would definitely aid in increasing the intake charge velocity. However turbulence is something that is a little hard to measure - I sold my wind tunnel before I bought the Liberty - and gainsare going to be very difficult to measure.

After two months of discussion, I finally have one! Fitted, haven't really driven it so I can't determine any noticeable gains as of yet.

I've continued discussion in the Post your mods forum.

You're right  I fitted it last night, and only drove it the 4km to work - it wasn't fully warmed up by the time I got to work! :P
