05 GT Even/Un even headers.

Postby JDGT05 » Wed Oct 26, 2011 2:45 pm

Hey All,

After looking harder at exhaust systems for my 2005 GT Liberty I have come up with a few options and should be all sorted over the coming weeks.

Only thing that keeps coming up in regards to the exhaust note is the even headers issue with the 2004-2006 range.

I was wondering if anyone has chosen the uneven headers option for there liberty?

If so how much stuffing around and costs were involved in getting it done.

And all in all was the end result worth it, keeping in mind I am a massive fan of that boxer rumble that I see most wrx models have.

Any help or even basic information about this topic would help me a lot as I literally know f all about it!!

Thanks guys!

Headers wont get you the boxer note.

Its the twinscroll turbo thats the issue.

You'll need to go single scroll turbo to get the burble. $$$$$$

You could possibly go to a set of unequal TS headers, It will sacrifice the effectiveness of the twin scroll, and it won't sound exactly like a WRX.

I like the twinscroll sounds, some mufflers and piping make them sound like shit and others are fine.

I wouldn't loose performance for a bit of burble sound.

The equal length is where it's at, sounds crazy, alot of the wrx crew when going big numbers change to equal length.
