Anyone taken the filter out of the banjo bolt in the turbo oil feed?

Heard these can make the turbo fail so I'm thinking of taking mine out (in the case it hasn't been done already).

I've got a 2L auto and not keen on the little twin scroll dying as they cost a packet.

I did (but no filter on MY07)...
Gotta be super careful not to loose the top and lower washers and its a good idea to use a torque wrench to do them back up. :)

Sweet.

Think I'll take a look to see if mine has the filter and possibly just replace the bolt and washers. Shouldn't clog up unless the oil and oil filter haven't been changed in a while....

Other thing found recently was the MAF sensor wiring was not a firm connection at the plug, hitting a speed hump or pothole would loosen the wiring and car would start playing up. Wiggle the MAF sensor wiring, problem fixed ;)

Good to know. I haven't had idle problems with my liberty but I did in my MY99 wrx. In that case it was the O2 sensor...

sorry for bringing this up again, just a quick question... do you think that this could be the same problem of the 2.0R engines that experience hesitation (there is a separate thread already, but none has ever mentioned the solenoids)?

2L NA do not have the solenoids since they do not have AVCS.

Would like to thank everyone for the input to this thread. I also recently had the same problem, and even after showing my mechanic the pictures from this thread he still didn't take it apart. Thought it would be a vacuum leak.
Decided to give it a go myself and surprise surprise solenoid wouldn't moved and I fished out a few bits of the filter.

Wasn't a lot there, compared to pics in this thread which is a bit worrying. Should this be of any concern?

Once again thanks for the help keep it up!
