I just put up a post about this a couple of days ago
Look for (CEL and cruise light flashing), Subaru ended up replacing the front 02 sensor. Its a very common problem on the GenIV's.

Front 02 Sensor is easy to replace... take off engine cover and it should be behind the turbo, get a spanner, unscrew the sensor and unplug it at the other end.

I'll should have some photos somewhere around, will try to find it.

From memory it was about $380-$400 from Subaru to buy the part.

not that i'm disagreeing with these comments at all, but, the one part i've bought from subaru so far has been heaps less than i was expecting...
as in $12.37.
admittedly it was just a clip in surround for the extra muffler i put onto my 2.0L but still, i don't think i would have not bought it until they said something like $45- $50 plus?
