Having some issues with the vf36 up pipe fitment on the upgrade, one of the vendors on Singapore legacy site said i need some STI engine mounts to allow the engine to sit a bit lower which should solve the up pipe clearance issues. Is there anyone on here running a vf36 in theirs? This is the first time i have heard you need the STI engine mounts as part of the Upgrade package!

Cheers

Dan

the OEM mounts are quite soft. they use the same mounts in the NA as the GT.

i had issues with my DP hitting the steering column using the OEM mounts when my lead foot is down on the floor, once i swapped them out, perfect.

Mike very kindly advised to go with the Group C ones and not the Group N ones as they would be too stiff.

with the Group C ones in my car, i can feel the engine a little more in my car, response is marginally quicker, but still keeps it a very pleasant daily driver.

What was the feeling like when the steering column was hitting the DP?
Today I took a corner pretty quickly (a round about actually) and I felt this shudder/knock as I was turning in, have never felt it before so it seems to be in extreme situations?

pretty much exactly that, turning into a corner, on exit put your foot down. you'll hear a buzzing a feel it in your hands.

it'll get progressively worse with time (also dependent on your DP & power that you make)

i suggest that you keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, replace the mounts.

Okay thanks Gerald.

I don't think mine was a buzzing though, definitely more of a knock. And I could really feel it through the steering wheel too.
I'll do some testing.....some day.
Car is too clean to drive until the Melb cruise next weekend
