I too have had this problem and the O2 sensor was replaced under warranty. Suprisingly, I had had the best economy the car ever had while the problem existed!

What do you mean by used warranty? as in extended warranty like the ahg ones? if the car is not out of NCW and the first owner sells the vehicle, the next owner is still is entitled to the NCW. I hope this is the case, were you out of pocket for the repairs?

I dont think AHG transfers extended warranty if they use Harrier. AHG is our parent company. They bought the McGrath/Lander group.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Seems to be a very, very common problem. Hopefully it gets sorted out tomorrow and will never show its ugly head again.

Cheers

I bought the car used from a Subaru dealership. The car was out of NCW but was still covered. It might of been covered in the 3 month statutory warranty or the 3 year used car warranty that came with the car .. either way, I didn't have to pay anything.

As long as you weren't out of pocket. Would have been pretty pissed of if you had just bought the car and had to fork out another 4-500 bucks to get it fixed.

Had the same problem, and had the o2 sensor replaced by subaru ossie park. they said that they couldn't guarantee that they would do it again as i have a pod filter and quite a bit of aftermarket gear installed (ecutek etc...)

The car started to use more juice after they replaced it so I was going to get it retuned, but now I'm (fingers crossed) getting a hyperflow TMIC and VF34 installed next week.

Thats BS they are telling you, i bet they replace plenty of 02 sensors on unmodified GT's. Problem is far to common on this particular vehicle. I really dont want to be spending $350 a pop everytime the 02 sensor goes.
Who is doing all these mods for you in Perth Astro?

Got most of it done at maximum motorsport in malaga. I've got Ecutek, and they are one of only 2 places in Perth that do ecutek. The other place is in Wangara somewhere.

The ossie pk delership also replaced my rear diff recently, so I figure I'm doing pretty well considering they have reasonable grounds to refuse the work given that I have done quite a bit of modification.

I figure the second you start messing with the car, any warranty work done is a bit of a bonus.

Hmmm, This fault happened to me again today.
Was driving just out of town, stick the boot into it and got to 100kph fairly quickly. Once I baked off, the CEL lit steady and the cruise light flashed.
I kept driving for another 2-3 mins then stopped, when I restarted the car (maybe 20 mins later) the problem seemed to have gone away.

Will have to take it into the dealer ship and see if they can find a fault on the ECU.
