Turbo blown - upgrades for MY04 GT AUTO ??

Postby NXTIME » Wed Oct 06, 2010 10:53 am

Guys, I know this may be covered before, however, I didn't really find a convincing answer.

Car is currently stock (less inlet resonator) and is my daily driver (have a very heavily modded GTR for fun times :D)

My turbo decided that it had had enough and I'm looking to replace it, however, I thought that this may be the time to also upgrade it. What should I do? Fit a VF34 cartridge to the VF38 housings?

I wouldn't mind eventually upgrading the power to (a genuine) 180-200awkw for some extra go. I like the quick spool of the auto/VF8 combo however, it is sometimes sluggish on downshifts and throttle response.

What mods would I need to achieve 180-200awkw? And yes, I will be getting an ECU tune once all the mods have been done. I have heard good things about Pulse. Any other recommendations for a Sydney-sider?

Thanks,

Charlie.

How did you go with the turbo upgrade?
Anything you needed to consider for the auto GT?

Looking at buying a 2.0GT manuals are hard to find
