Hi Guys,
It has been a while, but I really have had little to report. The car ran on the computer for two days, and the data was sent to HO subi for data reading. This takes time, but the guy who started doing it got "waylayed" for a couple of weeks...
Today finally catching up on some decent forum time I read that the 2.5t models have been put on stop. I guess this could easily have sent the service specialists at HO into a flap...
Anyway, they have discovered some 'anomolies' in the charts sent, and they are collating all the part numbers and all service details to come up with a comprehensive answer.
Short story, I know nothing yet, but they feel that they are about to get an answer that hopefully will get to the bottom of problem...
It also has to be said, that the car is now out of wty, but the problem is pre-existing, and there has been no suggestion of walking away from it cause the wty ran out...
They have my patience now, just, they have been slow, but are still really trying to help. It's just weird that some cars can come up with strange bugs that are so far from the norm that diagnosis and rectification can take over 9 months.
I still think holden/toyota/ford etc would have told me that it works within acceptable perameters and told me to f*&$ off...
A short story for entertainment and as proof:
I once complained that the hand brake in my comodore made it thunk really loudly like the back end was about to rip out of the car if i used it whilst the car was moving!
The service manager screwed his face up and said what the hell was I doing- it is a park brake- it shouldn't be applied whilst driving!!!!
I said that he ought to tell that to all the rally drivers in the world who relied on the same device to keep the car on the road.
He pulled his smart arse pill out and told me that even if I thought I was a rally car driver, that I certainly shouldn't be driving a comodore like it was a rally car...
I resitsted the temptation to punch him, and simply said- "there are many sporting drivers who might choose to use the hand brake to change the balance of a car mid corner as a last ditch effort to control the immense dergee of pig F*%^king understeer your P.O.S.car exibits on a constant basis... And you might try explaining the problem to any of the guys who bought V8's and HSV product to race on a track- see how far your ignorant comment goes to explaning away a technical oversight in product planning then, you smart arse F*&%"!!!!!!
He just shruged and walked off....
