Blown Turbo Suspected

Postby ephesiangts » Mon Nov 28, 2011 9:01 pm

Well.....,

Picked up the liberty tonight.
The final result being 174.6kw

Final specs:

EJ207 2010 STi spec C long motor (<1500km)
Twin scroll standard turbo housing with VF 34 cartridge running 19psi
Running all standard liberty ancillaries.
Tune.

All in all I am very happy.
So much nicer to drive and a lot more go. Worth the cost? I'll be the judge of that. :)

Nice one! Would love to see your dyno curve. I find it interesting that many people are getting 200kw at the wheels with 34s. A lot of happy dynos out there me thinks.
Feel strong around 3500 rpm??
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

But I would think those peoole have all the supporting mods (TMIC/FMIC, 3" Turbo back, injectors, fuel pump, silicone inlet hose. ect)

Where as this one is a bigger turbo with stock supporting parts. (please correct me if you have supporting mods)

Yeah, I have front mount, SS piping, vf34, 3" TCP exhaust, pod filter, and an AVO pump. Still has plenty of fuel with the stock injectors, 180 at the treads at 18 psi. Goes well enough. Still a bit left in it I would suggest.
That said, I think I am going to do something retarded, and build a forged 2.5 with a decent sized garret on it, buy an old 1st gen wrx, dump the 2.0 out my liberty into that and make it a track hack, and have the 2.5 in my daily......who knows.

I really don't want to put a damper on things, but that power reading seems a little on the low side especially on a pulse dyno.

Really not having a dig but I'd suggest you look into it and see if there are any issues.

Mine was a unopened 2litre with exhaust and intake and made 172kw taw in an auto.

Fair enough. Its a super safe tune and the motor is brand new, so may change later. (re tune)

It had a previous ECUTek tune done and Michael couldn't access comp. :(

if your happy with how the car feels then thats what its all about :). Glad you went from blown turbo to a nice vf34 set up in only a few weeks. would be sweet if you can push the 34 cartridge out to 200kw with some nice supporting mods but if you happy thats all that counts :).

MSR recommended a TBE, as it will give it the kick it needs and most likely hit the 200 mark, but as a family wagon that I barely see, its more than fine at the moment.
