I got told my car is ready but got told I would be charged. Apparently it needed a retune with clean filters and sesnsors. Now considering I paid for a tune when I got the ECUTek and get it serviced with MRT why am I paying for a retune :?:

Hopefully common sense will prevail and I can get this sorted or otherwise bye bye MRT.

Will provide more info tonight once I get the car and speak to MRT upon collection :glare:

I agree with you BlackGT.

If the problem was non existent beforehand (tune) and it has only started to appear since MRT has performed their work then it would clearly be the result of the tune, therefore MRT's responsibility to cover the cost. I am sure they will come up with excuses, but make that clear to them, the job was not done properly.

Labour should be covered by MRT, but parts on the other hand may not, that might be the compromise your after.

^ as above. If they claimed to be half decent in their tuning they should have picked up that sort of thing especially if they service your car as well. Smells dodgy to me.

Since I'm really not good at replaying what someone says I'll provide a quick jist of what was told to me.

Basically during my tune they found my AFM to be dirty and "cleaned" it and then made some adjustments (no idea what they were). Apparently after I brought it back they found that they had not cleaned to AFM properly and needed a retune. So 600km's later my car is tuned. I'm still not 100% certain the problem is 100% fixed but some more driving will let me make my mind up, but the car is certainly alot better than last week.

They wanted to charge me a few hunded dollars and the cost of a tank of fuel (even though when I gave them the car it was just filled). I was OK with paying the fuel charge as they said they needed to drive the car around to tune it properly but not the cost of re-tune. In the end I didn't end up paying it but I was let off not because they thought it wasn't fair because he hadn't communicated the fact I would be paying properly. This despite being told why doesn't sit well with me. Brett says it's a wear and tear issue as parts get dirty. In my mind I should have only to pay for dirty parts to be cleaned or replaced.

When I got my ECUTek I was told I had a faulty o2 sensor so they tuned my car with a faulty sensor then made adjustments to last week during a tune with a (still) dirty sesnsor.

I really don't know what to make of it. I like taking my car to a clean workshop with professional people who have presence and a (hopefully good) reputation. I am willing to pay more for these things but if at the end the jobs are getting sloppy and I'm making multiple visits then I'm not so sure. That is just my opinion.

But I do have my car back better than last week :D . I'll see if the problem is totally gone in the next few days when I get to drive it some more.

Good to hear Mohammed! Hopefully your issues are fixed.

I think its time you give up being a devoted MRT believer.

Sorry to break the news but my name is not Mohammed.

Someone inform me of a reasonable large clean workshop who has experience with Subaru's and I'll go there for my next visit to see the difference.

LOL!! that's his surname bud :D

With cleaning the AFM, it cost like $7 from my understanding.... buy a spray can of contact cleaner, take the AFM out and spray the shit out of it. When it dries place it back in.

With the faulty o2 sensor that costs about $380 or so depending on how much they get it for from Subaru.

What is your name by the way... cause I thought it was what Phil said too... we meet at Hooters but I all knew was Mr Black GT :D :D
