Isnt the tank in a Gen3 about 60 litres (if not more) so your filling with 1/3 or 20 litres left.

Oh ok.

How bigs the tank in a Gen3. If they have a quarter tank left and it takes 40 litres to fill from there ?

I wouldn't be taking the gauge for gospel though.

Don't know about others but my Gen 4's tank is 64 litres according to the book. When the gauge is reading 1/6 full however it only takes 48 litres to fill (going by the gauge it should take 53-54 litres). I haven't run it empty yet though

I just went to the servo and put in 29.75 litres to fill it for 365 km traveled which comes to 8.15L/100km. Im happy with that.

Yep ,Grafton to Brisbane. In a auto GT wagon (with 122k on the clock) with aircon on and the wife and child and boot full of crap for a weekend away.

I think I could get in the 7's without air con on and just me in the car.

I know some in the thread have done better than I economy wise , so I have room for improvement.

To be honest I don't really take that much notice. If I want an economical drive I'll take the wifes Civic for a drive. If I want to get where I am going in comfort, with overtaking ease I will drive mine. On a good tank around town I will hit 430 - 450 before I fill up. If it got worse than that I would lighten the right foot a little, maybe.

I had to sell the idea that the GT wagon could be economical to the wife. She would have been happy with a 2l na or 2.5l na. So my economy run was about proving the GT can be frugal when needed to be.

Its going to be a daily driver for me, 30km to and from work everyday (90% highway).

So far the wife is happy.

I get between 8.2 - 8.8 L/100km consistently over 6 months.Always work km - ie: 50/50 freeway - suburban. To be honest havent really tried to get better and that does include the occasional squirt. So I am very happy with that. Going for a custom tune on Tuesday so will let everyone know how a few extra atw kw affects the economy. BTW absolutely stock.

I have had my 04 GT for about a month and with city driving only (with aircon on) and I only get about 370km to a 55 litre tank which I work out to be 14.8L/100km. If I have a few spirited drives it's even higher.

I recently drove from Brisbane to Glen Innes , the inland way via Warwick ,Stanthorpe, Tenterfield, and I then got as far back as Stanthorpe before filling up again . I got 791km. Once the car goes below "50km to empty " on the trip computer it doesnt display the distance anymore but I know I went about 20km into that. The needle was almost below empty . Anyway I still had about 5 3 or 4 litres in her when I filled.

Wont push my luck that much again tho :-)

Just thought id put up my economy figures over the last 2 tanks,
I do about 70% highway, 30 traffic.
Ive got 11.7 km/L for tank one (Caltex 98) (8.5 L/ 100km)
and 10.9 km/l for tank two (7 eleven 98) (9.2 L/ 100km)
So im pretty stoked thus far, my old lib was good on petrol but not this good.
