laggy throttle??

hey guys just picked up my GT
drove it all the way from melb to sdney lol through floods
great car i must say
though i noticed the throttle being very sloppy
and it kinda over revs when i try to shift fast
also another queastion
did the 2.0T manuals come out with the steering wheel controls for the audio??

The pre-face lifted 2.0T models didn't come with audio controls on the steering wheel. Although I think someone here tried to do a conversion to get it. Not sure how that went.

But either get a throttle controller or better yet, a tune should fix that dead spot. But depending on how well maintained the car was from the previous owner, check all the usual: oil, spark plugs, air filter, etc and chuck in a bottle of injector cleaner.

yeah i was thinking. just getting a 3.0R model steering wheel and swapping it over
anyhow
for the throttle
it feels like a dual mass flywheel is in it
fluttering abit
i guess the response of the throttle is not that great
i have to get off the gas abit early b4 shifts
but any attempt of fast shifts car overrevs

Pretty sure you have the dual mass flywheel which is very heavy.

On mine same deal, the revs are slow to spin up in response to the throttle application due to the heavy DMF. Also when shifting at high RPMs it tends to overshoot once I lift off the throttle, and when I am in the next gear the revs have not dropped enough.

When my clutch wears out I am converting to single mass solid flywheel.

Yeah JUN makes them to order, I don't know of anyone else. VIC GT on this forum has bought that one and he was pretty happy with it, PM him for more details.

The 2.0T SMF conversions are much less common than 2.5L.

STI one might be possible, I cannot vouch for that.

2.5l is totally different it won't fit.

You should speak to PhatGT see if he knows of a reasonably price conversion kit for the EJ20T

This is more to do with the ECU than the DMF - the ECU will hold the throttle open a moment after you take your foot off the accelerator as a measure to reduce exhaust emissions. It was initially annoying for me but is something I got used to after a couple of weeks.

It could be a combination of both. I would have thought also that due to the higher mass of the flywheel it has much more momentum to keep spinning. Is yours a DMF too Tony?

Ring Subaru and give them your VIN they will be able to look up the correct part # and whether it's DMF or not.

from what ive seen on here a few people have been to Pulse to get their gt's tuned and have had good results
