Hi guys im just curious what plugs should be in these as standard, in 03-06 bl5 model. from what i have read it should be ILFR6B. My car is no longer standard and mechanic changed to a colder plug and put in LFR7AIX ones( i think need to take one out to confirm) Is this the correct plug to go for when wanting to go one step colder or should i be using ILFR7H ones? Another guy i know locally says he has had PFR6B ones in it for the last 2 services, so just tyring to find out which ones are the correct option. so would the correct plugs be classed as short reach or long reach plugs?
On another note, if i drive my car straight away after been parked up over night from a cold start, and attempt to on boost, results in the whole car shuddering and coughing and popping and misfiring so i think maybe they colder plugs are not the best option for my setup, If the car is warmed up for a few minutes before i drive it, car drives fine when coming onto boost. maybe my plugs are cold fouled from short 15km motorway commutes to work and not really getting up to temps properly.
So the question is do i stick in a new set of heat grade 7 plugs or go back to standard issue heat grade 6 plugs? Will the step back to the 6's affect my tune and need a tweak? Car was mapped with the 7's in it.
Any advice would be appreciated and help out 2 grateful legacy owners!
Thanks
Dan
