I remember hearing James (Darkwatch) had a VF36 'kit' fitted to his car, the downpipe used was a VF36 collector mated to a stock downpipe.[/quote]

getting a VF36 to fit is a lttle different to getting a Garrett 2860RS to fit

the only easy way i see to get a 2860RS to fit is use the factory housing with the 2860RS core , than i would call it a 80% direct replacment . you still need oil and water lines and an adaptor to join turbo to cooler

So there is probabaly nothing out there that is a direct bolt on. I had a look at Gtpumps twin scroll but that is still not a direct fit was told the flange are
different. They are selling it with manifolds as a kit I wonder if it would fit nicely?

cheers

The car was previously owned by a bloke who professionaly races in the V8 supercar circuit. The turbo was already on the car when I bought it and was fitted by a mob who does all his engine work, so i'm not sure exactly what other modifcations were done to have it fitted.

I've been in other stock GT's, and the upgrade on mine seems to make it run a bit better in terms of power. I am planning on a tune some time in the future, so will post figures when I've had it done.

Ahh, just because a turbo fits, doesn't mean it's a direct bolt on. :D I reckon you can pretty much make any turbo fit as long as you have the patience and the money to custom make the piping, flanges, etc to incorporate it into your current setup.

HKS makes at least two kits, direct bolt on including all the nuts, bolts and washers for the GT. Not sure about the intercooler adaptor - maybe they expect you to buy their I/C as well.

First is a GT2835 kit for about $4063AUD plus shipping and the GT2530 Kit for $3350AUD plus shipping (both ex Japan yahoo)

As you can see in the pic it has up pipe, and sandwhich plate for down pipe, oil and coolant fittings. They do like their "direct bolt on kits" in japan.

Anyone had any experience with the AVO bolt on replacement as well?

Personally I don't like the idea of taking a superior twin scroll design and merging it to take a conventional single scroll turbs. However now that I have had my heads ported and a seven angle valve job with a light weight flywheel, my spool is instant. I am thinking I could do with something a little bigger so very interested to hear people's experience.

I have spoken to avo they haven't mention about any bolt on replacement going to single scroll I was advised they are working on a twin scroll upgrade. I'm actually waiting for a reply from avo japan aswell for any bolt on options.
