Hey guys just wondering i tried a quick search and could find anything so i thought id start a new topic
I was just wondering if people could post there L/100kms or Km's/L up so i could get a rough idea at what im looking at when i get my Lib
I have a 03 commodore wagon atm which is going on friday. but in that with lowered and 19" wheels i average around 11-12.5L/100kms
Anyway i have looked around on redbook ect and it says there around 12.5L/100kms but im guessing that thats a average i mostly drive highway and free way as im on the mornington peninsula.
Would be much appreciated if someone could help

To be honest, people posting their l/km is so inaccurate when compared to yours. It al depends on how you drive the car, auto/manual, what location your in (Hills, Short streets, long streets, long drives, short drives to work etc).
My 3rb was a bit thristy but averaged about 12l in a manual, that was giving it a bit of juice and lived in a subaru where streets are all about 200m long and my work was about 5mins away so the car didn't have time to efficently warm up and cruise their

for example
Roughly 12.5L/100km (city)

This is all inner city driving
Hard - 390km before warning light
Normal - 420km before warning light
Fuel conscious and boring driving(below 4k) - 460km before warning light

I average out 11L/100ks for city, but living in a rural city area, its not quite as much stop start as a big city, although we dont get freeways so much.
On a trip i got my car down to 8.1L/100ks.
My car does have a tune though. BUT i dont exactly drive like my grandma

Hey guys thanks for the help although I thought I would add something else to the topic
Fuel types used,
I'm just wondering what fuel everyone puts in the libertys
I'm assumming 98% for most, with 95% the min. Just wondering how they run with just normal unleaded

Premium (95
RON) is the recommended minimum. The engine will likely run ok on 91 RON but it may retard ignition like a bastard and just generally run sluggish. I run 98RON where I can and 95 if I can't get 98.
Also, have a read about octane ratings, in particular the RON rating used in Australia.

12.4 for city traffic only average
9 l/100 on freeway highway
10.5 combo.
Fuel only 98 BP (normally, but not as much lately since there screw up in Gulf of Mexico) or MObil. Only 95 when in the country and desperate.
Just as an aside, I spoke to a Docklands mechanic who was driving with me on a drive test, and he was saying the new one is better economy wise, and that his mate went from a 3.0 rb to an SS wagon - which gets better economy, even in the city!

he must have been driving the RB with a lead foot and driving the SS like an old granny.

Doesn't the SS have AFM to reduce fuel use?
