I have asked the question before, and got no real clear answers haha. I want to know if anybody makes an off the shelf CAI for the 3 litre engine. Its been something i have wanted to do for a while, but now im getting very serious, but i want to know if ANY companies make an off the shelf fitment.

Before anyone says it, i will be sending this to Phat aswell :D

Why would you bother on a non turbo :? what do you expect it to do? why not fit a electric supercharger ??http://www.globalautoshop.com/performance/performance_index.htm

Kakimoto make one including an intake chamber
but it's expensive and not sure if the results justify the cost

looks schmick tho..

I can tell you that after fitting a full Stainless 3" Custom CAI into my guard with pod, that the car has better throttle responce, pulls abit harder in top end and the induction from an ez30 is insane.

But alas my outback is MAP, and the 3RB is MAF.
You could do it and mount the MAF in the intake, but you would need to rescale the MAF to do so.

Sounds awsum mate! But thats why i really wanted an off the shelf product, so i didnt havto mess around with changing stuff haha.

Has anyone ran one of these on their GT?

Do you think that would provide me with sufficient intake noise 8) haha

anything you do to the intake, technically needs the MAF rescaled.
you will have high and low mix spots, you might be able to get away without doing it.. dont know.

+1 for interest.

I'm looking for a CAI as well. I have seen a few posts regarding this around, perhaps a couple of us could go in and have a group buy.

Like the link i posted above? Iv sent them an email though, as when i click AU$ currency it goes from $360 to $485, which is a bigger increase than what it should be. It should be around $395au according to independant currancy converters...

Mmmm, the link doesn't seem to work. It's not blocked at work, the site may be down.

The other option I suppose is to just get some large gauge pipe made and run with that. Do you reckon that would be a viable alternative? It's probably a bit fiddly.

They replied to my email and said that they havnt reveiwed their conversion for a while so those prices are incorrect for AU$. They then asked how much i am willing to pay for the setup, which i thought was a strange question. I told them id be happy to pay $400au inclduing delivery to to aus, so ill just wait and see what offer they come back with.

I also asked how much discount they would give on an order of 2 or 3, so ill see what they say to that aswell.
