H6 AVCS

Postby BlackFlatSix05 » Tue Dec 08, 2009 6:01 pm

Today I was able to read SpecbTommy's My06 rom and found that within his rom there are no AVCS maps.

My car is a My05 and it does have AVCS maps in the ecu.

WTF ? Did Subaru in their wisdom drop AVCS in the H6 in the My06 ? Surely not ?

Anyone ?

I also found there are 8 Base timing maps in the 06 rom where mine has 6 base timing maps. The 06 also has more DBW maps. Confused ? :D

How do you know there aren't?
If you're using ROMraider, it may just be that it doesn't know where they are in that ROM.

Yeah like Ric said, it will just be the definitions not being complete, similar to what westminst is on about with your other stuff. The simple way is to look for the solenoids on each cylinder bank. They'll be there

You are correct. You can check for AVCS and Lift very easily

But we must thank the community for supporting the 3R, even if not 90%. I have other support for the 3R a year before the romraider release, but still no view on fuel maps. Either way, will make do. Power is up around and to be serious, I have not start tuning Ign and avcs for power yet. So I am hopefully for more power increases.

I PM'd Merchgod on the Romraider forum in relation to the AVCS maps in the MY06. Below is his reply.

looks like the AVCS tables were inadvertently omitted from the defs for that ROM. I'm no longer working on the defs, however, I may have a last bug fix release before I quit entirely, so if I do, I'll add the missing AVCS tables for that ROM.

Maybe if I can get an additional 10units in the tq range, that would be great. In HP??? I am not sure until I test.

It has AVCS. I found it. I will add it, but I do not use romraider. I will see if I can add it to their def file and I will send it to romraider website.

Update AVCS A completed

Not a prob. Makes no differences when you custom tune.

I am praying AVCS tuning starts this weekend. Need to start seeing real power gains.

So far we have improve the response of the car.

The bad thing is, I cannot tell how it feels, except to see it from the logs. I soon ask for a driving vid on the latest tune.

We have a few in Barbados and I just love the sound. I have more fun with the 3R than with the STI.
