If you drive her normal, lol, tuning would be ok, as I just remove pinging, but give her until next year as you put on more mileage
I can start tuning in the sense of the DBW. Thats easy. So its up to you.

If you put extractors on, I cannot say what big difference in the tuning it will make, but I would expect the same fee, but it depends on the logs. Once you pay for first tune and updates are small, its fee. If I see massive changes, then and this takes time. As I stated to everyone, I really custom tune. SO lets play it by air.

Customer who perform tuning remotely have access to me using the following:
  1. Skype
  2. AIM
  3. Yahoo
  4. MSN
  5. E-Mail
  6. XRT private area on the forum

thanks for your input... do you have a recommended kms that i should do before i PM you to get started?

I agree with this statement. My car goes like a dog with its ass on fire when it's really cold outside, but on warmer days it's pretty doughy. Who woulda thought that the ECU would scale everything back so much on an NA engine to compensate for hotter weather.

I wonder if there is any benefit to wrapping the stock intake and snorkel with heatwrap? Anyone done tests?

The ECU does not scale. Its just too hot and not enough o2 per vol.

All I will say, drive her and when you feel she is consistent, then. When is your next oil change due?

Cars today are so refine, driving her new and later on makes very little difference.

DBW tuning can happen instantly. OTher tuning I think should wait a little, although it makes no diff, since all subaru's local to your market carries the same based map and operates differently. lol

Really and truly, its up to you when you feel certain she is ready. That depends on how much you drive her.

Thanks, what is the threshold temperature that it changes between the hot and cold calibration? You mentioned a range of 2degC but at which temp does this window of change occur?

What I am saying, a small change in temperature is noticeable. Not map related. There are maps for temperature compensation, but I mean in terms of NA. Remember air temperature is crucial, since there is no additional cooling like in an Intercooler setup

Hi Edward,

The car feels great. Very smooth. Power comes on strong and I think it even seems to rev out quicker above 5000rpm. Could be my imagination.

Lets hope its your imagination!

Where do I obtain a Tactix cable from and how do I use it to obtain logs?
Anyone in Sydney who is getting this done and don't mind giving a hand?

Trojan,

Merry Christmas!

For cables, look here:- viewtopic.php?f=16&t=7415

It is easy to log. It might look and feel difficult, but very easy. When you are ready or someone can show you, you can see what is involved.

Checked the link from above post. Site has a few cables which mention Evo and Wrx connectors but none mention Liberty/Legacy
So still not sure which one I need.

Searched for tactrix on the forum and found this viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6033
Would this work? Feel kinda silly paying more for the cable than for the actual tune itself.

Lol. I know the feelings.lol

The cost of the cable is $169. hint hint. There is only one for 169 :)

That site is aussie. Hence why we posted it :)

Well, I can adjust the cost to make it more. lol

I hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays!
