i just know the 100K services in Glenny Subie will cost $1240!!

Are you sure that price is for a 3RB?
I know all the 4 cylinder models need a timing belt change at 100k, but the 6 cylinder doesn't.

I got quoted "starting from $1400" for the 100K service.
That price includes just the bare essentials, doesn't include potential items that may need to be replaced, or to be replaced while the car's apart, like the idler/tensioner pulleys, water pump (this just gets inspected), etc.

$348 i believe not to bad.. but the lady said that they rotated my wheels however I know they didn't because my gutter rash still at where it was lol.

If it is a H6 not a H4 then I doubt very much they inspected the water pump, as it is hidden behind timing cover and if they took this off (bugger of a job) on a 100k car they were 80% of the way of changing it anyway, which they should of. Also I would have done the timing chain and sprockets/tensioners at the same time even if they were still good as these can get ratterly with more k's and can set off the knock sensors prematurely.

Yes, I know the H6 doesnt has to change the timing belt~~ but I hv asked the mechanic in Glenny Subie, and they quoted me that price from their system!!
And I got one of a mechanic which located near boxhill (specialising on Honda and Subie) , he quoted $840 for 100K services, so I m thinking abt it.....who im going for :roll:

i can attest to that. mine are quite rattly unless oil in right on full.
nothing relocating the knock sensors cant fix. :lol:

This is more relating to any scheduled service other than just the 75K, but check your oil levels once you've got your car back.

I've never really paid attention to the widespread occurrence of engine oil overfilling until I bought my Subie. Well I checked the first service since I bought her and it was well over FULL. I used a syringe and flexible hose down the dipstick tube to suck out about 300ml before the level dropped to full. I imagine your mileage will vary and it could be overfilled even more.

The risks? Well too much oil = excess crankcase pressure + risk of oil aeration. Neither are good for the engine seals/lubricating.

After you've driven the car to normal temp to burn off any water in the oil let it cool for 5mins before checking so all the oil drains into the sump so you can get an accurate reading.

This same principle would apply to the auto trans fluid as well which should never be overfilled. I also check all the other fluids too when I get the car back.
