Aftermarket Temperature Guage

Postby Blaeven » Fri Aug 28, 2009 7:29 pm

Hey guys,

i just bought a autometer mechanical temperature gauge so i can keep a better eye on the temps in my ez30r...

just wondering where the hell i would mount the sensor it needs a 1/2" threaded hole for the mounting bung, or i could get an optional 3/8" bung instead, if that's easier...

anyone got any ideas?

In the thermostat housing is usually the most common location (You wll need to take the housing off and thread a hole into it.

You can also get a collar adapter which goes between the end of one radiator house and the engine (Requires cutting the radiator hose a little bit shorter. The adapter of course has a threaded hole in it that you can mount the sensor into.

Hey mate,

I can sell you one of these for $20 with collars delivered.
It goes in your top radiator hose.

Pity you got an autometer mechanical, I have a whole range of electronic gauges in the forum's vendor page,
which not only look good, but come with:
opening/closing ceromoines
all wiring
gauge interconnect cables
gauge cups (2)
Instructions
Sensors
Mounting hardware

And I bet that you paid more for that mechanical gauge than what I my gauges are for sale for on this forum and I bet that the gauges I have are of a much higher caliber and quality.
