It would appear Mr Middleton does not like our beautiful flat six. Nowhere in this rant does he state whether his test mule is manual or Auto. Have a read.

Not all that surpising from a performance tuner really. A turbo engine provides so much more easily achieved scope for tuning than an NA, particularly a high compression NA. As has been said a number of times, it is so easy to adjust dyno calculation parameters to get results to suit your argument. A stock 3.0 doesn't make 150kw at the wheels, so there is some dodgy "flywheel power" conversion factors applied there. Also, from what I have seen the past year, the auto tends to put a bit less power to the wheels than the manual so I'd suggest their mule was an auto.

It's not like Middleton ever did any good in the ARC either

I'd say their test mule is auto also. I did email them asking to clarify this point. As for the power figure you have to remember they use a hub dyno which could account for the 150kw. Look forward to seeing what figures they come up with in the coming months using their EcuRek software. It will be interesting to see what they charge also. It would want to be a lot less than a turbo charged tune.

they have the software available already and has been used on a number of 3.0 R
cars.

the price is roughly the same for a tune.

Always happy to be corrected. Their website hasn't been updated since 2005. Not like MRT not to be on the ball :D

Just had a reply to my email to MRT

Thanks for your query David

The MRT 3.0RB is a 6 speed manual - I cannot confirm it was stated or not in the newsletter, however it was our preference for ease of dyno testing and development for the model.

We should have some more updates in the coming weeks as far as gains achievable however to date we are yet to release any results. Would you like me to contact you once we have some more information available?

Kind Regards

Even though I'm no where near Melbourne, it would appear that the most ValueForMoney tune for the 3.0 N/A would be what Vin @ STi Docklands does.
