3.0 overheating

Howdy folks!
Started suffering some overheating.
I say some because the needle never really went above the top white notch on the gauge.
The top hose was hot n the bottom one was cold.
Thinking it might be the thermostat, I removed it but it tested fine..
Any thoughts as to what the issue could be?

how many km's on the engine? If its over 150,000, it'll be a head gasket issue. Many people have been there, 99.99% of the time its the head gaskets

170,000. The only oil leak I can see is around the oil filter.
