149kw ATW 3RB!!!!

Postby thezone » Fri Nov 28, 2008 10:58 pm

Read 'em an weep peoples. Picked up my 3rb today after full custom exhaust including headers, twin hiflow cats, hif low resonator and twin st steel magnaflow boxes with quad tips+ ecutek type 4.

Dyno results show 149kw atw! It's quick now and man does it sound good!

I would post the results except i have no idea how to upload a pic. Can someone help?

That's great to hear! Congrats! I'm not too well versed with the H6 engine, but what's the power output at stock? But it probably feels a lot more driveable now! :D

But you need to find a host to upload your pics to, and then use the direct link to that photo on the forum. Most users on here use Photobucket.

Noice :!: :!: :!:

The 3RB sounds awesome huh? You got headers as well?

Send me the pics and I can host them for ya if needed.

149kw ATW is great, must be so much more pleasurable to drive now. Yeap, gotta see the dyno's, interested to see the power gain from stock levels.

Hi mate,

what sort of headers did you get??? what does your exhaust consist of, as in size, did they remove the third Cat. How much did the ecutek set you back??

That is a very respectable outcome. I think for the manual 3rb its around 125-130 atw, and auto a little less than that

+ 1 Have seen a few dyno graphs which don't claim to have that much improvement for the 3RB but they have been autos...

would love to see the dyno charts.. she must leap from a standing start now!!

Here are some pics and sound files for new exhaust and ecutek. They're not all that good but hopefully gives you some idea. I have better pics of underneath but i left them at work. The headers were custom made by Mark at Exhaust Technology cost $2,550 for whole system. Ecutek type 4 was $1,950. Not cheap but best mod i've seen on an h6 in terms of gains and driveability......... oh and sound. Although the mrs isnt impressed! Might have to buy her some earplugs for xmas!

I have replaced sound clip 2 with a new one i just recorded due to the dislike of jamiroquai. It's still not very good but it's hard to cane a manual whilst holding a mobile.

Oh and also added dyno graph on photo link

Any chance of getting some pics of the exhaust setup?

Also what size pipes were used etc?

+1

I was wondering why you went with what appears to be the single outlet muffler with twin tips (via Y pipe) on each side when MagnaFlow has mufflers that have dual outlets.

Good point. There may be have been width or length restrictions/considerations, not sure i will ask. Also you can't tell unless you're right underneath.

I'm also perplexed as to why he used magnaflow after telling me that it would be all junbl. He seemed to think, after a bit of playing, that this was the best result. At the end of the day i'm not the expert.

I've never even heard of JUN B.L. until you mentioned it. Had to Google it! I've never heard of it being used on a Japanese car before. In any case MagnaFlow has a better international reputation plus it sounds good so nothing to complain about. :D
