Si Drive intelligent mode: Capping rpm at 2000 on hills?

Postby Reegan » Tue Nov 17, 2020 6:20 pm

Hey there!

I recently purchased an 08 Liberty 3.0-B, and when driving around in the intelligent mode, and trying to climb some relatively steep hills, I have noticed that the rpm cant exceed 2000, even with the accelerator flat to the floor. When the hill levels out the car will then somewhat slingshot itself due to the heavy throttle. I was wondering if this was normal with Si-drive's intelligent mode. If not, what could it be?

Cheers in advance :)

Maybe not normal, I’d say, but I don’t have an auto h6.
Lookup SI drive operation in the context of H6DO in the 2008 FSM workshop manual, link in my signature.

Keep an eye on your engine temps and ensure both your rad fans are working.

Read up on H6 cooling system failures:

I’d consider gearbox service including new fluid.

Mine doesn't do that, 07 3.0R with the 5EAT transmission. Is that just in 'I' mode ?

Intelligent mode is pretty piss-weak, I must say, so I typically flick over to Sports mode, for any hill-climbing. I’ve still only had mine for a few weeks, so just getting used to the different modes and capabilities of the car.

Cheers,

There's a torque limit applied to intelligent mode which can be tuned out. Have a look at this post for more info http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopi ... 15&t=12961 thanks to throttlehappy for figuring this out.
