Replacement Engine will not crank, just beeps

Howdy'

I've just replaced the engine in my 2006 Subaru Liberty and it will not crank. Engine is the exact one as the original and fitted like a glove. I am fairly certain that everything is connected and has been installed correctly. I have checked the grounds and battery and they are in good working condition. When I turn the key I get three quick clicks then a buzzing with zero crank. I have tried to start it in neutral, foot on/off brake but nothing seems to be helping. From what i've seen online it might be an immobilizer issue as the car cranked when the old engine was in it, so I don't believe it is a starter issue.

Any ideas or feedback would be appreciated. Thank you

I’d use Romraider, Btssm or a shop scanner to ensure all sensors & switches are working.

Your cars FSM workshop manual, link in my signature, has a diagnostics section which includes no crank no start checks.

Did you have any luck with this, perhaps immobilzer coding ? Would be interested to hear what caused the 3 beeps cheers
