Hi, my 3.6 outback 2010 has just passed 250,000km, I have owned it since new, serviced regularly except for last 9 months as I live in Melbourne and it is difficult. It blew a fuel pump around 6-9 months ago but otherwise pretty faultless.
Recently i have been getting a misfire at around 1800rpm at part throttle, kind of when you just want to accelerate a little. The car senses it and drops a gear. Hard throttle is no problem, no missing and doesn't seem down on power. Starts fine.
Any ideas? It is probably overdue for new plugs. I had them done at the dealer whenever they were due, probably at around 100k, and I believe they put in platinum one. Not sure. Is it likely plugs or are there other common issues with the 3.6l.
I am tempted to try to do it myself but last time I saw the subaru guy do it he was half inside the engine bay and it looked difficult.
Thanks.
