I take off the resonator/airbox at the throttle body and spray most of the can straight into the open (held open with whatever I've got handy sometimes my hand - the car is obviously turned off) throttle body.
Rest of the can I spray into the PCV and rocker breather hoses.
That's it. Start the car (will take a while to start due to the intake being full of crap and will blow a lot of crap when it starts) and take it for a drive.
Have never seen any mechanic do as it says on the can (source, worked at Subaru dealerships for 13 years).
Then I change the oil and filter.
