Custom exhaust price

Got a quote for a custom mild steel catback for a 2003 gen 3 outback H6 since there is literally no aftermarket support for the gen 3s without paying absurd prices to get an exhaust from japan or pay a quoted, and this is a legit quote from Subaru; $2300 FOR A MUFFLER...NOT A CATBACK..A MUFFLER
Apparently this is because they have to special order them from Japan and apparently we should pay that price because capitalism
So the custom cat back was from a shop in Moorabbin for $500. Is this a good price?
