Driving home from a friend's place last night i noticed a smell and when i got home some white smoke coming from the driver side wheel arch, i had a look and it seems coolant has sprayed all over the steering column.

Any idea what this could be from? i presume head gasket, the photo is from the driver side towards the front of the engine, looks like a total mess...

Normal LOL
That Black/Green slime is from the inner CV Joint.
You have a torn failed boot on the inner joint drivers side.
The boots are about $17-$25 each.

Driver side wheel off
Drivers side half-shaft out,
Disassemble PTJ joint.
Remove spider from shaft
Remove dead boot.
Replace new boot.
Replace spider on shaft
Reassemble PTJ joint
Refit driver's sdie half shaft
Torque up Outer Side CV Joint, etc (many ugga duggas)
Refit road wheel.

1 Hour in your drive way.

Enjoy!
