Been chasing my tail for the last week trying to sort out what was first believed to be a dodgy FPR, so being as the car is flex fueled and at the recommendation of one Matt McLeod, I've gone down the aftermarket FPR road, with a Turbosmart FPR 800.
This has been a headache from the get go, due to some weird Subaru bullshittery.
For one, the factory FPR is on the pressured side of the fuel system.
Next, once a new line was installed from the firewall to the rail to bypass the old FPR, the return line has nothing come out of it at all.
I can't regulate pressure if there isn't anything to regulate.
What is going wrong here?!

Well, it looks like the Turbosmart FPR 800 is the wrong type of Fuel Pressure regulator for your EZ30R.

The standard EZ30 FPR on prefacelift models returns to the tank before feeding the Fuel rails and the fuel rails themselves are of Dead-End type.
This is done to reduce evaporative emissions caused by returning overheated fuel to the tank.
The Turbosmart FPR 800 is made for Flow-Through type fuel rails (which the EZ30 does not have).

It may be easier to change to an alternative FPR, compatible with a dead-end fuel rail delivery system, rather than try to change the fuel Injector rails on your engine.

Yes, I see how it is done!!

With the judicious use of a Tee fitting, the supply line to the Dead-End Fuel Rails is tapped into to bleed excess fuel pressure back to the tank.
Thanks nixwrx. It is an obvious solution when some more thought is given!

Pic from above - shows the T that's been added. Also, was able to re-use the location for the stock FPR to securely mount the FPR800

What problem where you having and does the new FPR give any advantage over stock?
