H6 rear boxes

I've heard rumors that if you change the rear boxes to a certain size that it will induce drone in the cabin? Is this true?

My car is currently stock, but the cats have been removed and she sounds like an angry E36 M6 (raw and raspy) but I'd like to get a little bit more noise out the rear, without going too loud. Can I just change the rear boxes to something free-er flowing?

Since there is no aftermarket available in ZA for the 3.0, its really going to have to be a hack job (cut and paste), though it will be neat...

Should be fine - It won't drone too bad with the stock mid pipe.
