I have heard from STi@Docklands, that you should see 128Kw ATW in standard form fro the 3.0R, and after the V-Tune, you could expect 140 Kw ATW for the 6MT.

I have a 5AT and started with 118Kw ATW and achieved 128Kw ATW after just the V-Tune.

Mark.

Cheers Mark, thanks for the info :)

No doubt a road trip to Melbourne is in the pipeline, won't be too long.

140kw @ the wheels is promising, hoping to get just a tad more with the cat back exhaust and CAI....

I wish. I'm not sure anyone can tune the 3.0R in Sydney as far as I have seen. I might make the same trip to Melbourne.

sure there are. a couple that come to mind are Pulse (who have a bit of a hit and miss rep among some in here) and Spiro at Autotech in Granville (who seems to have a great rep with Subies). I suggest you read through the two recent tune threads in the For Sale section though.

I just spoke to Spiro from *Autotech* on the phone. He does not have the maps / software for the 6 cylinder yet. He's had quite a few queries lately and he is going to obtain what he needs in house in the next 3 months. (He seems very busy but seemed very friendly on the phone. He made a great impression on the phone to me, unlike MRT that virtually blew me off in a 10 second phone call :( ).

Edit - I meant to say Autotech :( Sorry.

I think the guy you would have been talking to at Pulse is named Paul. (Spiro is at Autotech in Granville) And yeah, I also heard similar through the grapevine

my car is running a full stainless CAI and custom exhaust including extractors, as well as a ViPEC ECU... with a sedate tune to pass emissions it's making 143kw atw with a 4.11 5 speed manual...

with a freer flowing muffler and a different tune i've been told to expect 150kw atw from it... and in the 1300kg gen2 it goes like a rocket!!

is there an ATW power difference with the 5 and 6 speeds??

Hey guys,

What is v-Tuned?

This 2004 JDM 3R 6MT will soon go into tuning here in Barbados, but below is stock power with a failing AFR sensor on the left and old Spark Plugs.

I can tell you that the rev limit need to be 9K.

Driving sti's, I keep finding that I was driving on the rev limit. The old 3R is so sweet with the 6MT. The 5EAT could be boring, but I do not know, since the gearing many be better. The 2004 5EAT in the GT shift too slow and is not that great.

It is something a guy named Vin at an STI dealership does.

We stuck a 2001 Outback H6 on the Springy dyno here in Melbourne the other day. This H6 is an early one without multi exhaust ports or AVCS / Subie VTEC!

This is about the lowest reading dyno in Melbourne and it made 120 kw atw with only muffler and POD which was very impressive. This outback has a compete V8 STI driveline including 6MT, brembos, teins, etc.

We've put in a request with romraider so we can tune it and are awaiting to hear back (we're also sticking a GT3040 on this NA H6 which should be interesting!!).

Danny @ Springy Motors here in Melbourne charges around $550 for basic tune.

I believe these H6 ECU's are supported at the moment to be tuned via ecuflash:

Liberty 3.0R
04 D2WD610H (MT)* (probably 05 as well).
06 D0XJ001M (MT)*, D0XJ001T (AT)* (probably 07 as well).
1992 Subaru SVX H6 with a 03 STI DCCD with plated rear diff

I have basic support for the JDM roms and have to find additional maps based on supported roms.

I would like to see full named support for these here that are non usdm, but at the present, I can tune the one here. I cannot wait to see the gains. Wish I could tune my 2R

This car is:

2004 Subaru Legacy 3R 6MT D2WD604A

I would use the GT3076R. Its a little small for the 3L, but more than enough for really good street, since it is a nice setup for the 2L.

Will you build custom headers?

What EMS will you used?

Will you make the same mods as Perrin did?

Pricing NA is so hard. Unlike turbo, which gains can be feel, NA is harder.

What I did for non turbo customers, except where this 3R maybe my first NA tuned as reflash, if price on what is change, which matches up with turbo tune. So that $550aus outside of AUS seems good. Actually matches my price here.

Let us know how it goes and with some dyno's.

We plan on using the stock ecu - it's actually MAP based so should be very good with a turbo attached. if there is no romraider support by the time we go to tune it we'll just get a microtech to control it.

Not sure on the headers yet, although because it's single port heads custom stuff will be very easy.

It's just a basic build which will cost us less than $2K all up, we're just sticking a turbo on the stock high compression engine and running 10-12 psi. Should be enough for 250 kw atw some seriously insane driveability.

It mine. :D

It's sort of a sleeper.. though brakes and wheels + the ride height make peepz look twice. The STi 6mt and 6-puk clutch make it very nice to get of the line. Plus the spec-c plated R180 2-way i have in the rear completely changes the way the wagon handles.. Just need my whiteline swaybars for the front and rear to arrive and all it good.

There was no way i was going to go the gt3076.. its just too small for what i am looking for.. plus the 3040 i got should be good for just on 300kw atw. and i can always change from the 60mm to 68mm garrett exhaust wheel and then have 350+ atw. I want drivablity and lots of bottom end and mid-range. plus i got the turbo through barter with a good mate. just need another 5 of K-Ruds handouts. anyone want to donate so i can re-do my bottomend?? :P
