SOLVED - Driveline Vibration/Shudder - Help!

Original:
So I have had an ongoing issue with my 2005 3.0R-B 6MT, on acceleration a vibration can be felt through the car when accelerating through 2000-3000rpms, peaking around 2500rpms. This only happens under load, e.g. going up a hill in 1st and 2nd gear on moderate acceleration, straight or corner. This does not happen when going downhill and is less noticeable on a flat road as the revs increase quicker with less load on the driveline.

Update; 7 May 2017
Summary:
Driveline vibration occuring randomly, most noticable in 3rd gear at 30-40kmh, medium throttle. (Problem was getting worse, to a point where full acceleration in 3rd gear above 4k rpm caused intense shaking of the whole car.)
After replacing all engine and transmission mounts, having the tailshaft repaired (u-joint replaced and tailshaft balanced), fitting different wheels, changing spark plugs and having multiple retunes etc. my problem was solved by replacing both front driveshafts. The car now accelerates better than before and no longer struggles/stumbles through the 2-3k rpm range.

Hello Jake,

It is I!
Check ALL the engine mounts.
The two under the motor.
The Pitch Stopper at the rear of the engine
The Transmission Mount on the gear box.

Maybe place a block of wood between a jack and the engine/transmission and lift close the these points to see if anything separates.
Good Luck!

Oh boy. How naive I was, to think a car with 190,000kms had good engine and transmission mounts.
They have well and truly had their time.
The left side lower engine mount can be separated into two pieces and the transmission mounts are split from where they joined their bracket.

So I'm up for new lower engine mounts and transmission mounts. Haven't really checked the rear upper engine mount but I'll get around to it and replace it afterwards if necessary.

Well Jake, in a way that is good news. You now know what the fix is and that it will be fixed with money.
It was highly likely when you were experiencing issues under power that the mounts were in the frame!
Matt Parslow can assist you with some STi mounts.

Ended up obtaining the 4 mounts through work acquaintances, $400 all up.
Now the issue is the install,
Wow this is going to be a bitch.

Following your advice, just that one bolt on each engine mount that's going to make things difficult.
Time is all I need, and there's a lack of it considering I need to do it at work.

Small thread dig, but I've just purchased an '05 3.0R with all the exact same symptoms you described, including the random occasional burst of power. Just wondering if replacing the mounts fixed all these issues for you?
