Head gasket replacement questions

Hi guys,

So I found that my car's head gasket has some oil around it which I assume will need to be replaced.
I will be doing the replacement myself but I'm not sure what seals/parts I need.
I know you need the head gaskets and head bolts but what else would I need?
Also what sockets (in mm/inches) would I need? as I've noticed some bolts would need some ratcheting wrenches to get in there.

Also my car is at 273,000kms, should I replace the timing chain too? I don't know if it has ever been replaced.

While I'm here, I've also found that my oil cooler is leaking, which part should I be replacing? The gasket? The metal pipe that the oil filter screws on to? or the entire assembly?

Thanks guys

P.S. The car is a Subaru Liberty 3.0R-B 6MT.

I personally would not touch it unless its pressurising the cooling system.

Fix other issues tho

Thanks for your reply Tradewind.

What are the symptoms of a pressurised cooling system?

Thanks

Leaking coolant or coolant shooting out of the top of your overflow tank. Split radiator can also be a sign
