GEN5 EZ36 Tuning query

Postby prem36R » Thu Feb 18, 2016 3:59 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some advise from owners and tuners (such as Kido/Matt).

I own a stock standard 2010 Liberty 3.6 Premium, which is my daily driver, and was looking for a bit more power without losing much driveability/smoothness. Not wanting to spend heaps either.

I was thinking of nabbing a Raptor header and Kido tune. My questions around this are:

> Is the factory dual exhaust particularly restrictive? Would it be worth my while doing headers and exhaust plus tune?
> If I do any of the above what kind of engine outputs would be looking at on a 95 RON tune?
> Can the SI Drive modes be used for different tunes? for e.g Intelligent factory standard 91 , Sports = Kido 95, Sports # = Kido 98 ?

I appreciate that tune figures are dependent on engine condition etc, but as I'm not looking for tonne of power if anyone can give me some ball park figures I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm in Sydney and would also like to know if anyone recommends a exhaust joint to do this work.

Cheers

I received a friendly call back from Kido and hope to have a quick chat with Matt soon. Also appreciated Tim/Raptors advice.

After making a decision and doing the work I will post the results. I'm sure I'm not the only person interested in a "bang for your buck" ez36 tune!

Unfortunately not, because Kido hasn't called me back yet.

If I end up doing it I will post the results.

Thanks to Matt (Kido) for his time on the phone today. I've booked in a tune for Sunday 13 March.

Tune was done today thanks to Matt.

He did a 95 Ron tune with throttle and AT optimisation.

The car drives a lot better now. Acceleration is smoother and torque delivery more linear. Gear changes a bit quicker too.

Pre-tune the 0-100 time was approx. 6.7 seconds, post tune tonight I saw 5.7 seconds and it was 28 degrees Celsius outside. N.B times are approx because I just used video footage and a stop watch. But method is the same for before and after tune.

So considering no hardware was changed I'm pretty happy with the result.

Thanks again Matt.

Hey there!

Great to hear some positive output from a 3.6l tune. Now you've had a couple of weeks to drive the car, what's your thoughts on the changes?

I gather you didn't do headers or any other mods?

Matt, good work mate and a great result for the customer. Killing 1 sec of the 0-100 time is great for a tune
