I think that we are flying blind?

The voltage is reported to be rising, however we do not know really where the negative lead of the meter is connected?

agh... I'm so sorry guys... I just did another test of the battery and alternator, the voltage did not rise. It actually stays pinned at 14.20v when all electrics are on and revved to 2000rpm. The previous test, I did it with my friend revving for me and for some reason it looked like the readings kept creeping up by 0.01V per second and i got paranoid...
My bad...

Anyway, all is well...
Thank you guys for helping me

You have some information now on alternators.
If the alternator circuit cannot sense to same ZERO voltage as the battery negative, it will ramp up the output voltage until it creates 14.2V output above its "floating" ground reference.
Faulty Battery Isolator Switches and loose battery negative terminals are renowned for causing this.

You?, Well you just failed meter reading 101.
