P0175 - Oxygen Sensor

Postby Subbie2144 » Tue Aug 25, 2015 9:35 am

Hey everyone,

I just bought a Subaru Liberty 2005 model. The previous owner was telling me that the rear oxygen sensor will need replacing soon and sure enough after three weeks of driving the engine light came on. I scanned it and the code P0175 came up.

"Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 2detected a rich condition (too little oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 2 is the side of the engine that doesn't have cylinder #1."

My question is what side is it I'm not 100% sure I think it's the passenger side?

Could poor fuel economy be due to the sensor also? I'm only getting 300km on a full tank.

If anyone can help me that would be awesome Thank you
