Hey guys, so my Liberty has unfortunately suffered the seemingly common headgasket failure that comes with high kilometres.
The car currently has 200,000 on the clock but till now she's been going strong and there's no way I'm letting her go just yet.

The idea of a replacement engine was brought up, but I feel I would end up having the same problem somewhere down the track. So I think, it's time to pull her apart and just give her a makeover.
Now as for the 4K+ quotes I was getting, HOLY MOTHER OF EVERYTHING THAT IS F#$%ING RIDICULOUS!
Ill admit its a big job, but damn... Labour costs are insane.
However, I happen to have a friend who can tackle the job in his workshop for much less... so long as I source all the necessary parts.
And that's where Im hoping some of you guys on here can help me out. Where and what should I look when sourcing a headgasket kit for an EZ30?
I hear that cometic gaskets (or something like that) are the way to go when replacing the leakinng OEM ones.

I purchased head gaskets and other parts for a head gasket job from Jackie at Annapolis Subaru out of the USA.
The items were less that 1/2 price of Australian prices and they were put in a USPS document envelope and were here in a few days for a few dollars.
The transaction was done by PayPal and worked well. Smiles all around.
I would definitely do it again if needed.

There is also PARTSOUQ that are very competitive.
You could use OpposedForces to determine head gasket part numbers, required, etc

'Tradewind' from Raptor S/C used this kit when he did his head gasket a while back and it seems to be going well for him

The idea of eBay kits for ANYTHING usually scare me quite bit.
But as soon as you said Tradewind from Raptor S/C that makes me think it must be of some quality at least, right?
It definitely seems to be the cheapest I've come across so far. But I guess I just want to make sure its safe to use before going ahead with it.
