Lock da Gate !!!!!!!!!

I always say its better to be Shot from a Cannon than Sqeezed out of a Tube......

I had to have the CV Boot replaced last week , passenger side, the suby dealer ship charged me 180 with parts, I was happy with that.
However on the way home I noticed when I would stop or select reverse the gear lever gets stuck in neutral or the gear im selecting. so I returned to the dealership and showed them what was happening, they kindly lifted it up on the hoist and had an inspection..........................

Verdict:: A coincidence they say, gear selector maybe getting stuck in the gate or the linkages that run down the side and above transmission might need lube.
I then asked them could they just give it a splash of lube, they said if it gets worse thell have another look but didn't lube it there and then..??
I explained that this has never happened b4 bringing it here. they say COINCEDENCE !!.

Is the centre console hard to get out and could this be the reason?????.... other than this the car seems fine..

car is H6 07 Bspec auto with flaps,---extreamly well maintained and driven like my grandma..

all advice and help much needed as im not paying yet another dealershit to stuff my car again.

as they wont without $$$$$

cheers

I do not have an auto, however I do have the Factory Service Manuals.
There are no linkages, only a cable.
Faulty Shift Lock Control System?
You may need to connect the diagnostic tool to read any diagnostic trouble codes in the auto control module.
Do you have access to FreeSSM?

Pull the shifter trim off. There is a plastic piece that goes around the shift gate that falls off and jams it in certain gears. Common problem, i usually just throw them in the bin and it never happens again
