clutch and flywheel measurements

Postby Brunsy3.0 » Sat Apr 04, 2015 1:01 am

Hey All

I am looking at purchasing a Jim Berry modified clutch and flywheel setup but require some measurements before he can do anything.
I have a 2007 H6 3.0L

If anyone has either bought a Jim Berry or has an old flywheel or has measurements of size and type this would be greatly appreciated
I have tried researching but cant find anything concrete

Seems the answers I need are these:
1) Push Type or Pull Type?
2) 230mm with 2mm step down? (usually the Push Type)
OR 240mm with 14.6mm step down? (usually Pull Type)
3) Stepped Flywheel?

Thanks in advance knowledgeable people

Cheers

Hi Brunsy,

I recall you asking this question before?

Have a look at the OpposedForces website.
2.5 Litre Turbo with 6Speed here http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/e ... nsmission/
3.0R N/A with 6Speed here http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/e ... nsmission/

The Clutch Cover between the two units is different?
This is consistent with the Exceedy site stating a 240mm dia clutch plate for the 3.0R engine and a 230mm dia clutch plate for the 2.5 ltr turbo 6Speeders.
From all images available on the net, both appear to be a stepped design and pull type.

I know that this is not a direct answer. however it infers an answer?
OpposedForces says that the covers and plates are different.
OppossedForces and Exceedy say a pull-type design.
Exceedy says 230mm for the 2.5 and 240mm for the 3.0R

Thanks Peter. This is the info I had basically come up with just wanted some confirmation as research isnt my greatest skill and I like to triple check myself.
Most talk on this forum and others was for the 2.5

Appreciate the input mate has put my mind at a bit of ease. Mow to gather some dosh and make the call. Then to fit the setup
