Hey guys

I went on a drive on the great ocean road yesterday and decided to check my engine oils, car temperature was great engine didn't feel hot at all but when i looked at the oveflow tank, it was passed the full line, I know the coolant expands when running so i left it and it didn't seem to have any issues, no hot engine no steam nothing.

I checked the overflow tank the next day and it is still above full,
was just wondering what should i do?
still need to get home next tommorow :(

Cheers Tom

check it when it's cool
it "should" be sucked back into the system,
also check the cap is working properly

otherwise, pressurising the cooling system and pumping out the water can be a sign of a cooked head gasket

I've checked the coolant level cold and it wasn't sucked in, (wouldn't it be sucked in when it is warm? it's not showing any signs of a cooked head gasket, temperature is low and isn't High so I'm unsure.

car heats up, coolant expands, is pushed into the overflow bottle
Car cools down, coolant contracts, is sucked back into the system

it may have just been overfilled at some point
