Engine Oil Capacity?

Can y'all clarify the engine oil capacity for the EZ30. Ive always thought it was around 5.5L, and id read it in the manual somewhere once upon a time, also have always been charged accordingly at service intervals. The couple times I supplied my own oil I was always charged a fraction more for the 0.5L on top of the 5L I'd supplied.
Begin rant...
Well today... I supplied my own 5L 5w-30 again, and on this occasion charged for an extra 2.5L. The techie swearing its 7.5L. I know the coolant is about that, but never in the 6 times ive been to Subaru Southport (now Von Bibra).
So i mention i was always charged accordingly for other services (normally recieving a call to say they need to top it up), I got the manual from the vehicle and showed this fella it specifically saying 5.5L, and engine coolant 7.5L. Not convinced, he closed the manual and found the same page himself again... Off he plods, comes back and charges me for 0.5L... Then was bright enough to say the manual (which may I point out is the H6 3.0L manual made by the creators of the vehicle, Subaru) was wrong...
Yet the last 6 services had been fine with 5.5L.
End rant.
Cant wait for their feedback phone call in a few days.

Fwiw I put 6L in mine per service so it laps just under the crank throw, (measures fairly accurately on spare block i have) and it maybe drops a few mm after 3-5000. Fairly normal. The danger is when they get low, you give it plenty of revs and a few g forces... Engine goes knock knock and it's all downhill from there. Just a sad fact of the real high volume oil pump and low sump capacity with an engine that 90% of them use a few hundred ml per service interval.
I have always put 6L as per what kiks suggests above.

Should take your business to another place. If they stuff up the small things they'll probably do worse eventually.

The sump refill plus filter change needs approximately 6L of oil. There are not many suppliers that have a 6l container. I use Nulon Synthetic as they have a 6L in their range.

I put in 6 litres with filter, which takes the oil level "just" above the upper dot on the dipstick.
What I have noticed is when the engine is run, the oil level on the dipstick "drops" a smidgen and can take two or three days stationary before the oil level recovers back to the original level.
This was tricking me into thinking the engine was using oil.

Yep,
Book says 5.5L, but sump + filter is 6L to high mark on dipstick
I'm running penrite everyday 10w-40 cause it came in a 6 litre container, but i might try something else next time cause i've had to top it up a bit by 7500km on oil
Last service didn't need topping up at all with castrol edge.
I have noticed even in the past that Penrite seems to burn early, and i think this might be proven now in this case as well.
What does everyone think about this? Sorry for the threadjack.

Why not change the oil yourself between service intervals.
You can pickup edge at $30 sometimes:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/163258This weekend from supercheap at 60% off.
Oil filter should be less than $20. Probably under $10 if you bulk buy from the US.
$40 plus your time seems reasonable to me.

I think I use closer to 6.5L I tend to let the oil drain over an hour or so whilst im at work. Plus usually flush a little through to take any residue with it. I do mine every 5000kms with Penrite 10w-40 hpr never used a drop

I was under a warranty which required these clowns to service it every 6 months. Fine timing, the warranty has expired at this latest service.
So the engine is now at risk of me and my tools destroying it

They forgot to mention that if the car is equipped with an engine oil cooler should use 6.5L. The extra 1L is for the engine oil cooler.
