A fatter mid range -- dyno sheet posted

Postby Spec B Wgn » Tue Jun 17, 2008 7:45 pm

S & J automotive here in Adelaide look after Subaru's. There's no doubting their ability to service Subarus.

So Sean will tune the ECU only on this car to show the inadequacies the ECU applies to a stock car..

The stock ECU will be reflashed with a Ecutek map once Sean has spoken with the ECUTEK tuners and sent them some of my ECU data dowloaded today.

The H6 can obviously only be tuned so much due to no forced breathing or induction etc so the results should be minimalistic but im positive the driving experience will be better for the misses and hopefully some more kmph to the litre.

i will keep you posted if your interested.

There is certainly something amiss as you are some 20kw down on standard and you're running 98. I'll dig out my dyno sheet from Docklands STi tomorrow and post it up for comparison. Not to try to bag you but just so you can see how the standard curve should look.

no the injectors are fine mate..

the car has 7k on the clock.

the dip in the curve is the ECU pulling timing ...if we had reset the ecu things would have been better because im positive the advance multiplier is running low.

How did the tune go?

I think you will find the dip is the cam timing/lift switch point...

will post dyno sheet up later.

well it drives a lot fatter thats for sure. 125 kws and plenty of torque.

Wasnt tuned for power it was all about ironing out some ECU glitches.

Played around with the ACVS and concentrated on having the advance mutilplier retain a high figure. It does drive differently.. a lot fatter in the mid range with not so heavy on the pedal...throttle response is good.

Hi spec b wagon. I also live in Adelaide and have been thinking about getting the ecutek on my 07 3rb manual sedan. Looks like your happy with the end result. What about the cost? Is it really worth it?

I think before and after graphs are far more meaningful if done in the same gear.
