Considering a 07' 3.0R

Postby Ruisu » Thu Mar 13, 2014 12:16 am

Hi everyone, I have been considering on purchasing a 07' 3.0R.
I have been lurking around in these forums for a while.
However I may have overlooked some of the topics on here.
I would like to ask for some advice.

it currently has just under 150k km under the clock and has been religiously serviced every 12.5k km as per the owner.

- I am wondering if there are any major services coming up for this car as such
- Is there anything in particular I should look out for?
- If it has been running on 91 uld fuel, is it highly detrimental to the engine? from my understanding, the engine would adjust its timing to accommodate the lower octane fuel but with that sacrificing a lot of its potential.
- and a follow up question to that would be - if add/using 98 afterwards, would this drastic change be beneficial? is an ECU reset required?

Forgive me for my ignorance, Thank you in advance,
Ruisu

You say " If it has been running on 91 uld fuel.....?"
Has it been run on regular 91 uld fuel?
If it has been given a regular diet of 91 uld fuel then time to consider another car. Walk away.

You ask "if add/using 98 afterwards, would this drastic change be beneficial......?"
Changing back to Premium now will not undo any damage caused by running on regular 91 uld fuel?

Has it had the 150k service done? If not then factor that in. Mine is just about due and at the last service the mechanic said it is about $500 worth of fluids alone not including labour (not sure what prices others have paid) as all fluids are changed.
