hey, my liberty went in for head gasket surgery this week, the heads have been removed and sent, all if good besides the fact that, the head gaskets look fine only a bit warped?, does this mean by cylinder head is damaged??, if so what is the cost for a new one of these for the H6, 2006 model, 3.0r, and i did not overheat to a crazy level, it simply sent 3/4 of the way a couple of times, before i could do something about it, please let me know!!

Warped gaskets are normal, replace them. Get the heads skimmed/checked at a engine machine shop as it will help with sealing

The mechanic will normally send the heads to an engine machine shop to confirm/correct flatness - after that - all good. As KiDo mentioned of course

Out of interest, how much do they skim usually? Enough to affect compression?

Out of interest, how much do they skim usually? Enough to affect compression?

Minimal, if the heads need a lot skimmed then it will affect compression but by then, the head is warped enough to be useless

That said, thicker headgasket can fix the compression

Thanks for your replies guys, tmro morning I find out how the head is, praying it's not damaged!!, if it is anyone got an idea how much they roughly are??, thanks!

Cylinder heads were fine, driver side was "blind", (head gasket failed here), will have car back by Tuesday !
