Got mine booked in for next week at my preferred Subaru dealer. Asked for a quote and was told it would come in under $800.

Just out of curiosity I called a dealer in Newcastle that I've steered clear of since they over-quoted me back in 2001 for a clutch change.
Anyways, conversation went,
"$800, unless it's a 3L"
"It's a 3L"
"In that case it's $1200"
"Ok, thank you, goodbye"

Somethings never change.

Anyone recall prices they've had for this service ?

Frenchies up here in Bris said over $900 for my 3.0R slushmatic.

Dealer wanted you to bend over as they all do.

Whoa what? I've just booked mine in for Friday with Subaru and it's under $400.
Am I missing something?

Yeah depends, I just did mine 2 weeks ago and cost $386 for the service, but then they stung my for a cv boot and wheel alignment which was another $190, and told me I needed new rotors and pads so I asked how much and they said $360 and I told them to forget it! took it to my local exhaust and brake shop and they said I might get another 10,000km out of the rotors, so my advice if they want to fix something get a second opinion I will not be taking my car back there.

My dealership is good. I told them to change the pads at last service and they came back and said no, they still got 10k left in them.

People getting cheap services at 112.5 may not be getting all the work done. It's 3-4 hours just in labour.

Depends on dealers. Most will try and rip you.

I'd stick to your local Subaru specialist

If it was me, I'd take it to Michael @ MSR since you're on the Central Coast

+1 - MY06 and on changed the service schedule's.

Got stung $1200 for my 112500km service at Von Bibra Southport (old Zupps) on the Gold Coast, I want to keep the premium warranty in check which requires service at the dealer outlets, you reckon its worth it? Car has 75000km on the clock and lucky to drive 200-300km a month.

I reckon they should supply complementary butterfly stitches for the after service gape...

Jeebus... Bet you were walking funny after forking out that.

Yeah was less than impressed. Turned the bank account upside down and inside out It was originally $800-$900 but I needed new brake pads, machine the discs, and a power steering fluid flush. That was all I needed done, nothing from their outrageous list of recommendations that seems to get bigger every visit.

A variance of $400 or 50% is something that needs to chased up with Suby Aust.
As stated above, I've had 800 and 1200 quotes from dealers only 30mins from each other.

Will call them tomorrow and see what they say.

What did the brakes cost you ? I'm due this service possibly.

Im not sure sorry man, i can only recall being quoted the price in the range of the $800s with the remainder being the brakes, machining of discs, power steering flush, and associated labour. Its still a wrought.
