Hi All,

New to this forum and currently driving a 07 Spec B 6 speed manual wagon. She's completely stock and I'm keen to make a few engine mods but where to start? So many different ideas and opinions it's mind boggling (to me anyway).

I am wondering where's best to begin. Should I start with replacing the headers first and then working my way along the exhaust or should I start with a cold air intake and work from that end? What will provide best bang for buck? I'll have to do it bits at a time (can't do full exhaust in one go for eg) but I want to take a holistic view toward it as well (if you get my drift). All reasonable and reasoned decisions considered.

Headers and tune, proven combo

Set of mufflers would improve things as well at a later date

You could always sell it to me. HAHAHA

Haha indeed! If I sold it my kids would kill me! They love the car as much as I do...

If you got a bit of coin to play with headers and tune is a must.
Mine is a different car to my mates stock 3rb just from a full exhaust and tune

if referring to me? hell yer it is. yours is another kinda animal with the tune and headers. completely different!!
tune and headers is certainly on the list for me!
so yer stevo defs go exhaust and tune.

Another n00b question...

If I get the headers installed, and it takes some time before I can get the tune done, what effects will this have on the engine? I don't want to have the engine die between installing the headers and getting the tune...

It's not ideal, but your engine will survive.

If you tune with Matt, he can send you a base map after you get the headers installed if you're paranoid, and then when you meet up in person he can get the tune optimised for your car.

The factory ECU will learn to add fuel to compensate, it will by side affect let it run a little bit more timing so it will feel better to drive until tuned
