Hi all,

I have a 2007 Liberty 3.0 Spec B. This morning when i tried to start the car, it was having trouble ticking over which then led to the "click click click" noise that usually happens when the car battery is dead. I replaced the battery straight after, but the car was still having trouble ticking over. When it finally did, car makes an awful clunking noise from the engine. Turned off immediately and could smell something burning to find smoke coming from what i believe was inside the car. I've uploaded a video for yous to see.
Would anyone be able to lead me in the direction to what it could be?

Many thanks

oil was the first thing i checked after turning the car off. was just above low so filled to full. still had trouble ticking over but once turned over car sounded a bit unhealthy/shacking etc. let it run for a bit and completly calmed down and went to normal idle. have turned it off and let it cool down and now starts up first pop no problems.. strange!
im running 5w-30 fully synthetic oil from subaru which tends to burn a bit, what do you guys run? would yous recommend running a slightly thicker oil?

That knocking sounded like some fairly serious bottom end (mid end?) issues.

I'm very surprised it fixed itself...
